Spartan Chassis Overview

Spartan chassis are renowned in the fire and rescue industry as well as the motorhome industry. Spartan makes the popular Mountain Master and Mountain Master GT series of chassis which are found under motorhomes of 40' and under with a single rear axle and in 42' motorhomes with a tag axle configuration. The Mountain Master series of chassis generally encompass up to 425 HP diesel engines and utilize the Allison 3000MH transmission. Larger coaches, such as the 45' Zephyr utilize the upscale K2 chassis, which is the chassis of choice for most major brands of 45' motorhomes. The K2 series features larger 500 HP engines, heavier Allison 4000MH series transmissions and tag axles.
